Reason for accommodation need
The client needed to house a number of families who required emergency accommodation, as a result of a fire at one of their apartment buildings.
The accommodation requirement
Tenants consisted mainly of families, some with pets. The Corporate Housing Partnership was asked to principally provide two-bedroom apartments, with a couple of three-bedroom apartments, near to the building the families lived in, which had suffered the fire damage. The accommodation needed to be of a similar standard to the properties that the families would be moving from, and to be furnished to a comfortable yet cost-effective standard.
The cost requirement
The client set out their budget, which was broadly in line with the rates typically being achieved in the market. We offered a small discount for the 12-month term and also for the volume of properties that were required. As the properties were needed at very short notice, this determined the price to a significant extent.
The solution
We placed many families into the accommodation of some of our preferred local partners, and also set up a number of new apartments specifically for the requirement. We provided additional services to support the guests with moving from their own homes to their new emergency accommodation. The guests’ feedback was extremely positive, as they valued the support and empathy we gave them during their hour of need.
